Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, Inc. depends on generous community members and corporate partners to package and deliver meals each day. The individual connection that each volunteer has is as nourishing to our clients as the food provided. Whether you give your time once a week, once a month or once a year, your support is invaluable to fulfilling the Meals on Wheels mission and impacting the lives of thousands each day.
Meal Delivery
Volunteers are needed Monday – Saturday to deliver nutritious meals to needy individuals in Sarasota County. Meals are delivered during the morning hours and can be picked up at our main office. Delivery only takes 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Kitchen Help
Perfect for groups, Meal Packaging takes place at our offices Monday – Saturday between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Volunteers get a first-hand look at exactly what it takes to get 460 hot meals out the door each day.
Community Service credits
High school students can fulfill their community service hours here from 8 a.m. to Noon.
Desk Personnel
Our work relies on volunteers who help with our day-to-day services such as computer and phone use, writing down names and addresses of clients and process paperwork for drivers.
