Baycross Christian Family Foundation previously awarded a grant to St. Martin De Porres Outreach to enable the organization to purchase protein-rich foods and provide high quality, nutritious meals through the café and the food pantry. Baycross is pleased to announce that it has provided an additional grant to St. Martin De Porres Outreach for the repair of its walk-in freezer, so that St. Martin De Porres Outreach can properly store the protein-rich foods that will be distributed to the needy. Without this grant, St. Martin De Porres Outreach would not be able to store frozen foods on-site.
The population that St. Martin De Porres Outreach serves is low income, unemployed and (in many cases) homeless. Their ministry is to provide food, education, emotional support and outreach. Each day, as they gather to serve the community, they begin with a group prayer. The volunteers work one-on-one with their clients, as they come for food, clothing, friendship, support, and prayer. St. Martin De Porres Outreach volunteers interact on a personal and spiritual level with the needy, which has resulted in numerous individuals seeking counseling, housing, and help. St. Martin De Porres Outreach is a Christian ministry, and the volunteers serve every person who comes through the doors and bear witness to many individuals turning to God.
