Baycross Christian Family Foundation is pleased to award a grant to the Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County in support of the Kid’s Café at the Roy McBean Club in Newtown. The purpose of the Kid’s Café is to provide free, nutritious meals to approximately 250 children between the ages of 6 and 18 years old each day. Because of the difficult financial circumstances of the children served at the Roy McBean Club, food insecurity is a common problem. Most of the children who attend the Roy McBean Club receive a free or reduced lunch during the school year. Without the Kids Café program at the Roy McBean Club, lunch at school would likely be the only full, hot meal they eat each day August through May. With support from Baycross Christian Family Foundation, the Kids Café program will provide 250 free, healthy meals per day to low-income children throughout the summer.
