Big Brothers Big Sisters is a one-to-one mentoring organization that helps children in the community facing adversity. Most of these children come from single parent homes where there is poverty.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has two mentoring programs that require mentors. Their greatest need for mentors is in Booker Middle and Booker High. Currently, there are 6 girls and 3 boys that need mentors at Booker Middle and 7 girls and 4 boys at Booker High.
Big Brothers Big Sisters need mentors who can devote just one hour a week during the school year to mentor these children and change their life forever! The process to become Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor takes about 10 days and includes an interview, federal background check and three reference checks.
Big Brothers Big Sisters also provides training and a mentor manager to help mentors enjoy and cultivate their relationship with their “littles.”
